United Methodist Grant Fund of the Northern Illinois Conference at North Central College

The United Methodist Grant Fund of the Northern Illinois Conference at North Central College (U. M. N. I.) is a need-based grant program for United Methodist students attending North Central College. Awards are based on need, worthiness, scholarship and character. Awards will be granted with special attention to the cultural and ethnic diversity of the Conference.

This need-based grant fund will provide financial assistance to undergraduate students who are members of a United Methodist Church of the Northern Illinois Conference:

  • Application each year is required
  • Must be a legal resident of Illinois to receive
  • Filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required
    For 2019-20, please file the 2019-20 FAFSA. You will use your 2017 federal tax information.
  • Certification from your minister, pastor, or priest is required each year you apply for the scholarship.
    On the application the student will be requested to submit the name and email address for the minister, pastor, or priest from whom they wish to request certification.
    The certification request will be sent directly to the minister, pastor, or priest.

RENEWAL
Annual grants may be RENEWED provided the student continues to meet the criteria below:

  • Financial Need continues to be present, as reflected on the FAFSA each year,
  • A cumulative 2.0 GPA is maintained,
  • The RENEWAL APPLICATION is completed by the designated deadline.

  • Funds remain available. Please apply early as funds are awarded on a first come basis.
