John Miller Cowlishaw Memorial Scholarship for Music

The John Miller Cowlishaw Memorial Scholarship for Music is designed to offer financial aid to a first-year student, sophomore, junior or senior with a major or minor in music, music education or musical theatre.

Eligibility Criteria:
In order to be considered, applicant …

  • May be a new incoming First-Year Student; new incoming Transfer Student; or a current Continuing Student at North Central College
  • Must be pursing a major or minor in music, music education or musical theatre;
  • Must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale);
  • Must have financial need;
  • Must submit a letter of recommendation from a faculty member in the music/musical theatre department,
    or in case of incoming first-year student, submit a letter from a high school music teacher.

Financial need is determined for each academic year by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
To be considered for this scholarship, it is recommended that the applicant files the 2020-21 FAFSA before the deadline for this scholarship.
The 2020-21 FAFSA is available in October 2019; the 2020-21 FAFSA will use 2018 Federal Tax Return information.
