Al Carius and Frank Gramarosso Endowed Scholarship Fund

Since 1966 Coach Al Carius has served as a mentor to generations of North Central College students with his “Run for Fun and Personal Best” philosophy – a philosophy his students live by long after graduation. In 1983, Frank Gramarosso joined Al in leading the College’s running program and together, they built three of the strongest athletic programs in the country where individual accolades on the course or track were overshadowed by the accomplishments of the collective team. In 2019, North Central College leaned into this philosophy in its institutional marketing efforts by encouraging students to “exceed their personal best” in everything they do, both in and out of the classroom.

Through this scholarship fund, donors may contribute to honor these two remarkable members of the Cardinal community and provide financial assistance to students who embody their collective character and philosophical approach to supporting the holistic person: mind (knowledge), body (physical and mental), and spirit (God/Faith).
