Robert Prussing Arnold, Class of 1939 Scholarship
Robert Prussing Arnold ’39 was born in Waterman, Illinois, in 1916. While at North Central College, he majored in mathematics and physics, graduating in 1939. In 1942, Robert P. Arnold married Harriet A. Ringberg. He was also a Lieutenant in the United States Navy during WWII. Robert P. Arnold passed away in 1988, in Aurora, Illinois.
Robert Prussing Arnold, a professional engineer, owned R. P. Arnold and Associates in Aurora, Illinois. As an engineer for special purpose machinery, he designed and built special purpose automatic machinery.
In 1999, Harriet Ringberg Arnold designated funds from her estate to establish the Robert Prussing Arnold, Class of 1939 Scholarship Fund for physics majors. A plaque commemorating this endowment is part of North Central College’s Endowed Scholarships Wall of Honor, which is located on the third floor of Old Main.
