Hank Skoglund Scholarship for the Humanities

The Hank Skoglund Scholarship was established to honor the memory of Hank Skoglund, Professor of Philosophy at North Central College, by supporting the study of the Humanities through an annual scholarship. This award is granted to a student majoring in the Humanities who exhibits distinguished academic performance.

Applicants must be …

  • Current North Central College students
  • Students who have completed at least eighteen North Central College credit hours as of the Fall 2020 Semester
  • Students who must be enrolled full- or part-time at the time of application
  • Applicants must possess a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA and
  • Applicants must major in Philosophy, Religious Studies, History, Literature, and/or minor in History of Ideas
  • An essay and two letters of recommendation are required – one of which must be from a faculty member who is teaching in the College of Arts & Science or College Programs (Interdisciplinary programs with a foundation in Humanities).
