Jim Witte Memorial Scholarship

The Jim Witte Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Jim Witte, Class of 1998, an amazing person with a deep love for North Central College. Jim’s desire to play college football and obtain a great education is what drove him to North Central College. Although he originally thought he wanted to be a teacher, he ended up majoring in computer science. With that degree, he obtained a job at AON Corporation, where he worked for 20 years.

Jim’s time at North Central helped him become an amazing person. He was a phenomenal husband, father, employee, coach and so much more.

The hope is that this scholarship will help North Central College students achieve their dreams and make an impact in the world in some way. The primary purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to a full-time student at North Central College.

Scholarship Guidelines/Eligibility are as follows:

  • Scholarship is awarded annually to a sophomore, junior, or senior and is open to students of all majors
  • Student must be enrolled as a full-time student during the academic year in which they receive the scholarship
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 and good academic standing is required
  • Recommendation letter from a faculty or staff member that speaks to the student’s character, academic pursuit and overall contribution to the North Central College community
  • Required Essay: Please write an essay that addresses why you would be a good candidate for this scholarship. Also, please speak to your educational goals and future aspirations. How will this scholarship help you achieve your goals? (Minimum 250 words)

This scholarship is not renewable. Recipients may reapply annually.
