Ruth Limpers Scholarship Fund of IGFOA

The Illinois Government Finance Officers Association (IGFOA) is a statewide non-profit organization of government finance professionals that actively encourages awareness of government finance as a career. The Association’s mission is to promote excellence in government finance. Accordingly, IGFOA has implemented the Ruth Limpers Scholarship Fund (RLSF) program to award scholarships to students working towards a related degree in government finance (accounting, finance, or any business-related degree as well as MBA and MPA degrees).

Ruth Limpers served IGFOA members for over two decades. Throughout her service, Ruth was dedicated to advancing the mission of IGFOA and its leadership. On September 8, 2021, Ruth lost her battle with ALS. To honor her memory and commitment to IGFOA, the Ruth Limpers’ Scholarship Fund (RLSF) was created to support the studies of students at an accredited educational institution interested in a career in government finance.
