Explore the World Travel Scholarship

At HOSTELLING INTERNATIONAL USA, we believe that travel changes you so you can change the world. That’s why we created the Explore the World Travel Scholarship: we want to help young Americans, regardless of financial need, travel experience, or location, to connect with other countries and cultures.

Explore the World Scholarships provide financial assistance for young Americans with demonstrated financial need to take an international trip that includes an educational or service component, including a study abroad experience.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be 18-30 years old
• Must be United States Citizen, Resident, or Green-Card Holder
• Must reside in a U.S. States, U.S. District, or U.S. Territory
• Must be able to demonstrate financial need
• Must have limited travel experience and limited travel resources

To be eligible for the First Passport Edition scholarship, you must meet the above eligibility requirements and:

• Have never held a U.S. passport.
• Be eligible to receive a U.S. passport.
