Samuel W. Hunt Jr. Memorial Scholarship

While not an alumnus of North Central College, Samuel W. Hunt Jr. adopted the College as if it were his own Alma Mater. Sam was a graduate of Southern Methodist University with a B.S in Economics as well as Juris Doctor Degree. A life-long learner, Sam also earned degrees from Rutgers and Stanford Universities.

As a dedicated advocate for education, Sam joined the North Central College Board of Trustees in 1974, and after serving for 30 years, became a Life Trustee in 2004. He was the recipient of the Gael D. Swing Award for Meritorious Service to the College in June 2006.

As a lawyer and banking executive, Sam shared his renowned expertise in charitable giving and estate planning and shaped a vision for long-term financial support and stability for the College. He was also instrumental in helping North Central secure funds for the Richter Fellowships, which made a significant impact on undergraduate travel and research.
