Paul Josiah Schwab, M.D. Scholarship

The Paul Josiah Schwab, M.D. Scholarship is designed to honor excellence by providing scholarship aid to a student entering their fourth year at North Central College whose goal is to continue his or her education in medicine upon graduation.

The recipient will be awarded $1,000 to be used toward tuition and book expenses along with a $500 stipend to be applied toward expenses for applying to medical schools (i.e. admission tests including the MCAT, application fees and transcript requests).

Eligibility
In order to be considered, applicants must:

• Be a full-time student entering their senior year as of the upcoming fall semester;
• Demonstrate an outstanding aptitude in the study of the basic sciences during the first two years;
• Demonstrate an outstanding aptitude in areas of liberal arts study outside of the sciences during the first two years;
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills;
• Demonstrate an outstanding capacity for leadership; and
• Display an instinct for service to the College and the wider community.
• A cumulative 3.000 GPA is required.

The Paul Josiah Schwab Scholarship application also requires the following three documents:

1. An essay,
2. An unofficial transcript, and
3. A North Central College letter of recommendation

If selected, the recipient is expected to meet the requirements and actively pursue entrance into medical school.

The Paul Josiah Schwab MD Scholarship is not renewable.
