Deborah Sperberg S’59 and John O. Strong Endowment Scholarship

Deborah Sperberg is an American poet, naturalist, and former executive at IBM. Her works include I Say Yes and After We Say Yes. Sperberg (b. 1939) was a student at Shimer College in the early Great Books period, enrolling through early entrance after her junior year of high school and graduating in 1959. She subsequently also served as a member of the Board of Trustees. She now resides in Carlsbad, CA, and volunteers at the Anza-Borrego Natural History Association as an Interpreter.

The purpose of the Deborah Sperberg S’59 and John O. Strong Endowment Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to two female undergraduate students who meet the following criteria:

  • Recipients must be in good academic standing with North Central College
  • They must have sophomore, junior, or senior status when they are awarded the scholarship

First preference given to School of Business and Entrepreneurship and engineering majors
This scholarship is renewable for up to three years.
