NFBPA Marks of Excellence Scholarship Initiative
The NFBPA is steadfast in its mission to advance, promote, and amplify the presence of African Americans in public service through professional development and leadership cultivation. The Chicago Chapter proudly comprises a distinguished membership of public officials, executives, managers, and employees serving across federal, state, and local government entities throughout Illinois.
As part of our prestigious Marks of Excellence scholarship initiative, we are honored to award five (5) outstanding undergraduate students a $1,000 scholarship in recognition of their academic achievements, leadership qualities, and dedication to public service. These scholarship recipients represent the next generation of public servants and will be formally celebrated during the Marks of Excellence Gala on Friday, October 3, 2025.
The Gala serves as a tribute to exemplary public administrators whose work continues to shape the future of our communities, state, and nation. It also provides an exceptional networking opportunity for scholarship recipients, allowing them to connect directly with influential leaders and changemakers in today’s civic landscape.
Each scholarship recipient will receive:
● One (1) ticket for admission to the Gala
● Two (2) additional tickets for guests of their choice
Recipients are also strongly encouraged to participate in NFBPA Chicago’s Press Day, a dynamic press conference-style event designed to showcase students’ public speaking talents and leadership vision. This platform provides a valuable opportunity for students to connect with NFBPA members and expand their professional network within the field of public administration.
