Lucille Henderson Scholarship

Lucille Schafer ’36 Henderson graduated from North Central with a Bachelor’s Degree in English and speech communication. In 1938, she earned a Master’s degree in speech communication and drama from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Over the years, she taught English and speech at the junior high and high school levels, as well as at an adult vocational school. Lucille was a member of a local community theatre group and Summer Stock Theatre in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The Lucille E. Henderson Scholarship Fund was to established from the irrevocable trust created after her passing in 2007 to financially support North Central College students.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Full-time undergraduate student (first-year and transfer students eligible)
  • First preference goes to English, Speech/Communication, and Theatre majors
  • Second preference goes to English, Speech/Communication, and Theatre minors
  • Good Academic Standing (Minimum 2.5 GPA)
  • Financial need may be taken into consideration
