Martin Lang '59 Scholarship

The Martin Lang Scholarship was established to provide financial assistance to students interested in a career of teaching mathematics at any level.

Martin Lang graduated from North Central College in 1959 and went on to receive a Master’s degree from the University of Kansas and a PhD from the University of Texas in Mathematics Education. He enjoyed teaching mathematics at the university level for over 35 years. Martin Lang was one of six children born and raised in Japan by German missionary parents and was extremely grateful to receive a generous 4 year scholarship from NCC.

Eligibility:

  • Full time, undergraduate student
  • Must be currently enrolled at North Central College
  • Must be majoring in Mathematics
  • Must be in good academic standing
  • Must maintain least a 3.5 cumulative GPA
  • Preference may be given to a student with financial need

The Martin Lang Scholarship is not renewable, but recipients are invited to apply each year.
