Men with a Hardt for Nursing Scholarship
This scholarship is formed in honor of Marguerite Degenhardt, former Pre-Health Advisor at North Central College and Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. The goal is to help diversify the nursing field by encouraging and supporting young men and/or students of color to consider a career in the field. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to students enrolled in the Pre-Nursing Program at North Central College.
- First consideration will be given to a male-identifying, first-generation student enrolled in the Pre-Nursing Program with demonstrated financial need.
- Second consideration will be for anyone enrolled in the Pre-Nursing Program who has financial need.
Candidates must answer the following essay question(s):
- Nurses play a crucial role in every aspect of healthcare and are often the driving force behind change within the field. Why do you want to be a nurse? What change would you like to see, and how will nursing help you contribute to that change? What is your loftiest career goal?
This scholarship is renewable.
Recipients will be asked to write a letter of gratitude addressed to the donors.
